Another re-release from the 80s, the adidas Frankfurt is perhaps the most unusual of the limited edition city series. The bluebird navy and silver colour way with suede and leather is very easy on the eye, it is the velcro straps that stand out.
Despite having the original terrace feel from the 80s and more than just a non to the casual style, velcro in places of laces may be a step too far for some. One for the purists perhaps? Time will tell.
Velcro still conjures up visions of playground bullying of kids with snide market trainers, but there is something about these that works. I can see them being what brings velcro back.
The iconic three stripes are there of course and lovely silver foil printed branding on the side wall and tongue and trefoil logo sitting proudly on the heel.
Whether they divide opinion or not, the Frankfurt will fly out.
