It’s that time of year again! Next week I head to Ibiza for a week and I cannot wait. It’ll be the usually week of partying with some of my best friends with planned trips to both DC10 and Amnesia for Cocoon (that’ll be a heavy Monday/ Tuesday) and then what we expect to be the highlight of the week taking in one of Carl Cox’s final appearances at Space. We’ll also be heading off to explore some of Ibiza’s incredible beaches and of course the wonderful Old Town – a side of the island that those who have never been or have a certain perception of the white isle never seem to recognise.
So what to pack? With temperatures consistently above 30 degrees there shouldn’t be a need for many jumpers! Here are my selections for the ideal Ibiza wardrobe on a budget…
Ibiza Wardrobe – Under £150
T-Shirts
Clearly T-Shirts are about the only thing I’ll need for most of the week, and I like this navy and white triangle print at Topman and for only £8 in the sale, you can’t go wrong…
I’m a huge fan of a classic white T-Shirt, for me they are a wardrobe essential whether it’s pairing them with a decent cardigan in colder times or to keep nice and cool for a week in Ibiza so I always stock up with a multi-pack from Topman. For a tighter fit try their “muscle fit” T-Shirts (below)…
Shorts & Swim Shorts
A selection of decent shorts is essential for any holiday, particularly Ibiza. I generally favour a nice chino short and tailored or slim fit cut as they can be worm both casually but also work to be a bit smarter for a nice evening meal or if you are lucky (or rich) enough to end up in a VIP area. ASOS are the place to go for decent and reasonably priced shorts, a Khaki or Stone is always a good idea.and then I spotted another bargain in the sale at Topman with a striped Navy pair of chino shorts.
Obviously you are going to spend plenty of time in the pool and the sea when on holiday and Ibiza is no different, except significantly higher number of pool parties that you’re likely to end up at compared to most holidays. Another bargain in the sale at Topman are these bright blue swim shorts at only £8 but I’m going for this mint green pair from Pull & Bear which are an incredible £7.99.
Polo Shirts
It’s important to have something a bit smarter than your usual holiday T-Shirts for that slightly fancied night out, whether it’s an evening meal at one of the many lovely restaurants in Ibiza Old Town or you just want to look that little bit sharper on the terrace in Pacha. This soft touch Jersey polo from ASOS is ideal.
I also find a nice navy polo and absolute essential and this knitted affair from River Island is a good shout…
Shoes
Flip flops aren’t for me so I always opt for a couple of pairs of pool slides and I never stray far from the faithful three stripes…
Finally, for day to day use, or night to night (!) a decent but good value pair of white plimsolls are a good shout on a summer holiday and the for something a bit more formal of evening, a decent loafer or driving shoe…
