Wedding Wardrobe

Everyone loves a wedding don’t they? I was lucky enough to be invited to my good friends Joff & Kris’ special day last weekend at a beautiful golf club near Taunton.

As you can imagine, one of the reasons I love a wedding is that it is a great chance to get dressed up and wack a nice suit on. I don’t get to wear suits as much as I’d like so I jump at every opportunity that comes along. So what to wear?

A really nice suit doesn’t have to cost the earth either. You don’t need to head to Saville Row, I find that the likes of Topman have a fantastic range of suiting, at really affordable prices and they have recently relaunched their “tailoring” range.  Personally they are perfect for me as they offer Ultra Skinny Fit, Skinny Fit and Slim Fit and it is vital that you choose a suit that fits you properly. But don’t worry, whatever your size they’ll have something for you!

My Look

Groom left, author right.

I already have a lovely navy suit from Topman but as this was a special occasion I thought I’d go for something new, and the navy one I have does have the potential to feel a bit more of a winter suit. So I thought I’d go for light grey this time and this Crosshatch Skinny Fit Suit. I paired it with a white Fred Perry shirt, buttoned up to the collar and no tie and then a new pair of navy brogues from Topman, with some white and navy striped socks, just to match my shirt and give the whole look a bit of character. I think you can get away with a daring sock choice if you match them with your shirt.
