Having to #stayhome has given me a lot more time to play with so I thought I would do a weekly post – The Casual Edit. It will be a selection of some of my favourite new products, videos and music to help you pass the time and anything else that has caught my eye in these strange times.
I know everyone is worried about their jobs and finances, but it’s also a time where it is tempting to make those purchases that you have been tempted by for months. Get some new threads delivered to cheer you up! I’ve been having a look at one of my favourite online stores The Hip Store and found these beauties among their latest stock…
I’ve not been all that wowed by most of the Raf Simons colabs with Fred Perry, but I am in love with this.
Music & DJs
If there is anything that is prospering during this crisis it’s DJs live streaming, the likes of Boiler Room have really stepped up and delivered some quality sets from DJs in isolation. There is something indefinitely fascinating about seeing a DJ play from their kitchen as well. I have to give a shout out to my Hamburg friends Senso Sounds and their marathon “party” – the bedroom session.
I’ve also been trying to support some of my favourite bands at the moment, including Eyesore and the Jinx who had to rearrange their London show this coming week. I picked up their entire catalogue to date on Bandcamp.
Without football, it’s tough isn’t it? I’ve taken to watching classic matches on YouTube – this morning’s choice was the iconic Liverpool 4 – Newcastle 3 game..
And I did the #toiletrollchallenge
Lots of people, businesses and organisations are struggling at the moment. It’s difficult to help everyone, especially when all of our own incomes are under threat, but here are a few things I supported over the last few days that are important to me.
St. Pauli Eck – legendary bar and a regular haunt when I am out there.
Watergate – my favourite club in Berlin.
AboutBlank – my 2nd favourite club in Berlin.
